Trade balance deficit down 3% by end of October 2018

AMMAN — The trade balance deficit in the first 10 months of this year fell by 3 per cent, compared with the same period of 2017, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
According to data from the Department of Statistics, the percentage of total exports to imports stood at 38.1 per cent during the same period of the current year, up 1.6 per cent from last year’s 36.5 per cent, for the same duration.
National exports during the first 10 months of 2018 amounted to JD3.8 billion, with an increase of 3.9 per cent compared with the same period last year, while the value of imports reached JD11.8 billion, down 0.5 per cent, compared with the same period of 2017.
