AMMAN – Ministries and public and private departments will observe a public holiday on Thursday, June 2, on the occasion of the Great Arab Revolt centennial, according to a decision by the Cabinet carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, on Sunday.

Jordan marks the centennial of the Great Arab Revolt — led by Sharif Hussein Bin Ali, His Majesty King Abdullah’s great grandfather — through a series of public and military events throughout the country.

An executive committee chaired by the Royal Court’s secretary general and including representatives of public and private entities, has been formed to supervise the celebrations.
