Teachers academy, UAE agree to sign on Jordanian graduates

AMMAN — The Queen Rania Teachers Academy (QRTA) and the Emirati education ministry on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding to sign up graduates of the QRTA Pre-service Professional Diploma Programme for teaching positions in the United Arab Emirates.

This is the first agreement of its kind in the region, according to an official statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra. The diploma was launched in October 2016 under Her Majesty Queen Rania’s patronage, with the aim of preparing future educators to transform their classrooms into environments that encourage innovation, leadership and intellectual curiosity.

Abdulrahman Hammadi, the ministry’s undersecretary, said that the memo is aimed at meeting the UAE’s needs for qualified Jordanian teachers in all specialisations. Haif Banayan, CEO of the QRTA, said that it is a step forward in Jordan’s cooperation and ties with the UAE.
