AMMAN — The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel on Thursday arrested the suspect involved in the robbing of a petrol station at gunpoint and making away with JD42,000, south of Amman, a few days ago.
CID personnel also recovered the entire amount stolen. The Public Security Department (PSD) said that on January 5, a report was sent to the CID saying that an unknown, masked and armed person entered a petrol station in the Naour area south of Amman. The suspect then stole JD42,000 from the station workers at gunpoint and escaped the premises, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
PSD added that a special CID investigation team was immediately formed to follow up on the case. Investigations led to the identification and arrest of the suspect, who confessed during questioning. The PSD added that investigation is still under way.
