Social Security Corporation launches new electronic services

AMMAN — The Social Security Corporation (SSC) on Tuesday launched a number of new electronic services for institutions and employers, in cooperation with the ICT Ministry.

The new e-services will enable employers to update information on their activities and accounts without the need to visit the corporation, said Nader Dhneibat, secretary general of the ICT Ministry.

He added that the new services are part of the e-government project, which is one of the ministry’s biggest projects, and it seeks to provide a comprehensive set of services for citizens and institutions.

The first phase of automating SSC services earlier this year served many subscribers, mainly voluntary subscribers, who inquired about their dues through the smartphone application, Dhneibat said at a meeting with reporters on Tuesday.

For her part, SSC Director General Nadia Rawabdeh explained that the newly automated services include logging December’s salaries into the system, monthly activities on accounts of new subscribers and inquiries on institutions’ credit, as well as monthly payment and dues.

She said cooperation with the ICT Ministry will provide more e-services in 2017 — ones that will enhance cooperation between government agencies in sharing data, adding that future automated services will include reporting work injuries and maternity dues.

The corporation, which has launched e-services through EFAWATEERCOM earlier last year, has started a two-month testing period in 12 institutions.
