AMMAN — The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) on Tuesday announced procedures to use smart applications to issue subscribers’ monthly electricity bills to facilitate the self-reading of power meters.
EMRC Chief Commissioner Farouq Hiari said that the regulations aim at enabling subscribers to read their meters themselves through smart applications that are accredited by the Kingdom’s three power distribution companies, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
As for readings of the meters for March and April, Hiari said that the EMRC has endorsed a mechanism under which the monthly bills will be issued for all subscribers once the smart applications start operating.
