AMMAN — Several Amman-bound flights were forced to divert to King Hussein International Airport (KHIA) in Aqaba after fog reduced visibility early Wednesday at Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA).
Director of public relations and passenger service at KHIA told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that flights from Dubai, Riyadh, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah and Cairo had been diverted to KHIA, and that additional diversions were possible.
He added that KHIA had been approved as an alternative airport for QAIA flights in emergency cases, such as weather conditions and lack of visibility.
