AMMAN — The Senate confirmed its sponsorship of the "Return is my right and my decision" campaign on Sunday.

The campaign, which will be launched by the Lower House's Palestine Committee next Thursday, aims to collect one million signatures to reiterate the right of all Palestinian refugees to return and compensation, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Palestinian refugees' right to return is a "sacred" right and cannot be waived, Senate President Faisal Fayez said during his meeting with the Lower House's Palestine Committee, highlighting that the three noes of His Majesty King Abdullah: No resettlement for Palestinian refugees, no making Jordan an alternative home for Palestinians and no for changing the status quo in Jerusalem, are “crystal clear and represent the Kingdom's solid stance”.

Under the leadership of His Majesty, Jordan will always underpin the Palestinian cause and Palestinians' right to establish an independent Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, he added.

MP Yahya Saud, head of the Palestine Committee, expressed appreciation for the Senate's supportive stance to the Palestinian cause and its sponsorship of the campaign, pointing out that the collected signatures will be submitted to the Palestinian Return Centre in London, which will in turn deliver them to the United Nations.
