Senate committee reviews regional developments, Jordan’s diplomatic efforts

AMMAN — Jordan has established solid and strategic international partnerships thanks to His Majesty King Abdullah’s diplomacy, Senate President Faisal Fayez said on Sunday.
During a Senate Arab, International and Expatriates' Affairs Committee meeting, Fayez highlighted the King’s keenness to consolidate bilateral relations based on respect and common interests, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Senator Naser Louzi, head of the committee, said that the meeting is meant to review the latest regional developments and the Kingdom’s diplomatic efforts towards various issues.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi acquainted the gathering on the Kingdom’s efforts towards supporting the Palestinians to meet their legitimate rights to freedom and establishment of an independent and sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the lines of June 4, 1967.
Safadi also briefed the committee on the outcomes of His Majesty’s recent meetings, including his visit to the US, the Jordanian-Greek-Cypriot tripartite summit in Athens, the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, the Jordanian-Egyptian-Iraqi tripartite summit in Baghdad, the Jordanian-Egyptian-Palestinian summit in Cairo and his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
He also reviewed the latest international and regional developments.
