AMMAN — Awqaf Minister Hayel Dawood on Tuesday checked on the progress of the Great Ajloun Mosque restoration project, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Dawood said a team of security guards and sanitation workers have been hired through a private company to work at the site, in addition to the appointment of a qualified imam.
The Umayyad mosque was built in 1246 by the last Ayyubid Sultan Najmuddin Ayyub.
