AMMAN — Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh on Monday ordered commanders and officers to supervise the deployment of security forces across the Kingdom in preparation for Tuesday’s parliamentary elections.
Hawatmeh also directed PSD personnel to stay impartial and “firm” in enforcing the law throughout the electoral process, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
All measures will be taken to provide a safe environment for citizens across the Kingdom to cast their votes, the PSD director said, noting that security forces have been stationed in all regions of the Kingdom to secure the polls.
Hawatmeh urged officers to adopt “the highest standards” in implementing the security plans, and take all COVID-19 precautionary measures to protect public health and enable voters to exercise their constitutional right.
