AMMAN — The Royal Scientific Society (RSS) on Thursday signed agreements with seven Jordanian start-ups with "pioneering" models in water and agricultural technology.

The agreements fall within a UNDP-supported project to expand innovation in water management for climate security in northern Jordan, implemented by the RSS in Jerash and Mafraq, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The project aims to implement pilot projects for water security in Jerash and Mafraq by working with SMEs and individuals making advancements in the water sector by developing innovative solutions towards water security.

The project also aims to provide additional jobs for Syrian refugees and members of the Jordanian host communities in Mafraq and Jerash. It is also intended to ensure that women have access to "full" participation and engagement in the project’s activities. As per the agreements, the RSS provides research, consultancy and technical support services to local and regional institutions.
