Recent rainfall channels 2mcm water into Kingdom’s dams

AMMAN — The recent wet weather has supplied the Kingdom’s main dams with about two million cubic metres (mcm) of water as of Saturday morning, according to the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
The volume of rainfall from the beginning of the season amounted to 35.5mcm of the average annual rate.
The ministry noted that the accumulative rainwater poured since the beginning of the season on all governorates has reached 58 per cent of the long term annual average of 8.1mcm.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Karak, amounting to 36.8 millimetres, Amman recorded 18.7.6 millimetres, Balqa 14.5 millimetres, Madaba 8.5 millimetres, Zarqa 4.4 millimetres, Jerash 7.4 millimetres, Mafraq 3.4 millimetres, Irbid 10.2 millimetres, Tafileh 12.6 millimetres, Maan 3 millimetres, while Aqaba recorded 1.9 millimetres of rainfall.
