AMMAN — Prime Minister Omar Razzaz on Sunday met with the head of the Jordan Parliamentary Women’s Caucus MP Sabah Shaar and the caucus’ members as part of the Cabinet's meetings with lawmakers.

During the meeting, which was attended by Minister of State for Political and Parliamentary Affairs Musa Maaytah and Minister of Public Works and Housing Falah Omoush, Razzaz discussed the MPs' concerns and emphasised the governments' “dedication” to follow up on their complaints, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The premier pointed to a planned conference, organised with the Lower House and the Inter-Ministerial Committee for Women’s Empowerment, which aims at identifying needed services, finding jobs for male and female youth and appointing a female liaison officer at ministries.

Regarding employment, Razzaz said that the government is committed to creating 30,000 "suitable and productive" jobs annually during the next two years, adding that it has helped create around 14,000 jobs during the first half of this year. He also stressed the importance of equal job distribution across the country.

The prime minister added that the government will consider complaints and comments made by people through its “Bekhidmatikum” (At Your Service) platform, stressing that it is working hard to find a "fair and comprehensive" healthcare system that enhances the quality of healthcare services.

For her part, Shaar said that the caucus plays a vital role in making sure women's voices in the Lower House are heard. She also praised the ministries' and the government’s cooperation with the caucus, adding that increasing the level of women's participation in political life is one of its top priorities.
