AMMAN — Minister of Education Omar Razzaz on Wednesday visited the Petra Elementary School in Amman’s Jabal Al Hussein neighbourhood to present the Early Grade Reading and Mathematics initiative’s achievements, according to a statement from USAID.
The Initiative, launched two years ago by Her Majesty Queen Rania with the support of USAID and UKAID, has benefited more than 265,000 children by improving reading and mathematics instruction in grades K2-3.
Razzaz commended the dedication and hard work of Jordan’s teachers, school leaders and supervisors who are working together with parents, communities and the private sector “to improve children’s foundational skills”, the statement added.
