By JT - Mar 09,2017 - Last updated at Mar 09,2017
AMMAN — The Ministry of Education has completed a four-day training for principals of public schools with kindergarten 2 to grade 3 classes with the support of the US and the UK on February 28, a statement from USAID said on Wednesday.
Last year, the Education Ministry provided training to more than 8,000 teachers in eight governorates under the Early Grade Reading and Mathematics (RAMP) Initiative. These early grade teachers need their principals’ support to successfully implement the RAMP methodologies inside the classrooms, the statement said.
The ministry organised the training activity for school principals to review strategies to support teachers in improving students’ reading and mathematics competencies, the statement added. The project, funded by USAID and UKAID, works with the ministry to develop and distribute improved learning materials and provides training for educators.
