Project in pipeline to prepare persons with disabilities for labour market

AMMAN — HH Prince Mired, president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), on Monday met President of the Civil Service Bureau (CSB) Sameh Nasser and Deputy Director of the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) Fayez Al Nahar.
The gathering discussed holding a joint project between the HCD, the CSB and the IPA, to build the capabilities of persons with disabilities and prepare them to enter the labour market.
The prince highlighted the importance of the programme, expressing appreciation of the bureau’s efforts towards maintaining the rights of persons with disabilities.
The prince also emphasised the necessity of engaging persons with disabilities in this programme, including people with intellectual disabilities and people with psychological disabilities, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Nasser said that 500 persons with disabilities will receive training in the first phase, noting that the project is aimed at providing training for people with disabilities who are registered with the CSB, noting that the bureau’s 2020 list includes 2,129 persons.
