Princess Muna heads Nursing Day celebration

AMMAN — HRH Princess Muna, patron for Nursing and Midwifery in the Eastern Mediterranean Region and president of the Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC), on Sunday attended the Jordan Nursing Day celebration held on the occasion of her birthday, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During the celebration, attended by Health Minister Mahmoud Sheyyab, the princess presented the Princess Muna Award for Excellence in Nursing at the local and regional levels, which honours nurses and health institutions.
She also awarded speciality licences for 66 nurses and presented certificates to 20 nurses who passed the “Leadership for Change” international programme adopted by the International Council of Nurses.
For its part, the JNC launched instructions governing specialisations and technical classifications for nursing and midwifery, in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
JNC Secretary General Muntaha Gharaibeh highlighted the Kingdom’s achievements in the nursing field on the local and regional levels, which she said is the result of the collective work of individuals and nursing institutions.
