Prince Hassan praises efforts of Jerusalem historians, researchers

AMMAN — HRH Prince Hassan, president of the Arab Thought Forum and chairman of the Board of Trustees at El Hassan Bin Talal Centre for Jerusalem Studies, on Wednesday highlighted the importance of joining efforts to enhance the convergence of ideology and action. 

Speaking at the closing session of the international conference, Jerusalem Historians, Prince Hassan praised the research efforts on Jerusalem, highlighting the importance of sharing these efforts with the highest number of people to increase awareness and knowledge, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.  

“Defending heritage is a defence for soul, identity and civil personality”, the prince said, adding that “history and heritage are pillars in building a presence of prosperity, excellence and creativity to create a reality that suits our civil position in the world”.

The conference issued a final communique titled “Amman Declaration for Jerusalem Historians”, which highlighted the importance of this event that saw the participation of Prince Hassan and a large number of Jerusalem historians, international researchers and archaeologists.

The event aimed to enhance cooperation and communication between historians and researchers in the academic field to carry out a qualitative study that suits Jerusalem and contributes to protecting the holy city against Judaisation and attacks.

The conference also saw the announcement of the “Jerusalem historians in the world” forum, under the presidency of Prince Hassan and in coordination with El Hassan Bin Talal Centre for Jerusalem Studies.
