Press syndicate sets guidelines to rectify membership situation
By JT - Jan 23,2019 - Last updated at Jan 23,2019
AMMAN — The Jordan Press Association (JPA) on Wednesday requested members whose membership requirements were incomplete to rectify their situation. The rules apply to those who joined the syndicate during two sessions extending between 2011 and 2017.
In response to the demands by the union’s general assembly, an ad hoc committee examined the soundness of the membership for all members registered in the said period. For those who had incomplete training periods, they were allowed to complete them regardless of the duration, while those with missing documents were requested to submit the required official papers within 30 days.
At its meeting to discuss the report, the JPA council also decided that decisions related to membership will not apply if the membership was endorsed under older versions of the JPA Law. A further meeting will be held to discuss “special cases”.
