Prayer for rain held across Jordan

AMMAN — Jordanians on Tuesday performed the Istisqaa prayer across the Kingdom's mosques. Awqaf Minister Mohammad Khalaileh, during the khutbah (sermon) following a prayer at Al Husseini Mosque that featured the participation of HRH Prince Abbas Bin Ali Bin Nayef, said that the special Muslim prayer for rain is a ritual that has been practised since the time of Prophet Mohammad, and is conducted in periods with a lack of rain, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
