AMMAN — Authorities are questioning a man who reportedly shot and killed his sister in Gaza Refugee Camp, senior official sources said.
The victim was allegedly gunned down by her brother while at their home, Police Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi said.
"Our initial investigations indicated that the shooting incident occurred following an argument between the two siblings," Sartawi told The Jordan Times.
The victim died instantly before being transported to hospital, the police official added.
"The suspect was immediately arrested by the authorities," according to Sartawi.
Forensic experts seized a pump-action gun that was found at the crime scene, Sartawi added.
A senior judicial source told The Jordan Times that the Criminal Court's prosecution office was notified about the incident.
"Our prosecutors will cross-examine the suspect on Sunday morning," the senior judicial source said.
Police said investigations are ongoing into the incident.
