AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Sunday met US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry.
During a meeting attended by Minister of State for Follow-up and Government Coordination Nawaf Tall, Minister of Environment Muawieh Radaideh and US Ambassador Henry T. Wooster, Khasawneh highlighted the “deep-rooted” Jordanian-US “strategic” partnership, expressing keenness to build on them for the best interests of the two countries and peoples.
The premier also expressed appreciation for US assistance and support for Jordan, highlighting the role of the US’s efforts to support the Kingdom’s economic development, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Talks also covered means to enhance cooperation between the countries, notably in the environment-related fields, as well as handling challenges of climate change.
The envoy expressed his country’s appreciation for the Kingdom’s stances in support of regional security and stability, stressing the US support for Jordan in environment protection and addressing climate-related challenges.
