PM mourns passing of former interior minister Ali Bashir

AMMAN — Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Sunday mourned the death of former interior minister Ali Bashir who died earlier in the day.
Khasawneh paid tribute to Bashir’s efforts while in public service, expressing condolences to his family, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Bashir served as interior minister between 1979 and 1980, governor in the Interior Ministry and member of the National Council, among other positions. Born in Salt in 1930, he also received the Order of Al Istiqlal (Independence) of the First Degree.
