Planning minister, House speaker receive Australian delegation

AMMAN — Planning Minister Ibrahim Saif on Tuesday received an Australian parliamentary delegation and briefed them on the repercussions of hosting large numbers of Syrian refugees on the Kingdom’s water, education, health and energy sectors.
Also on Tuesday, Lower House Speaker Atef Tarawneh met with the delegates and discussed regional developments, especially in Palestine and Syria.
Tarawneh highlighted Jordan’s position against the ongoing Israeli actions at Jerusalem’s holy sites.
Philip Ruddock, head of the delegation, praised Jordan’s stance on regional issues.
