Operational effectiveness hinges on automation 

AMMAN —  The government’s service automation process holds practical significance to the various local sectors in the Kingdom, according to experts.

Haitham Rawajbeh, representative of the communications and information technology sector at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), told the Jordan News Agency, Petra, that public service automation enhances the local business environment and attracts foreign investment.

He noted that service automation has become a priority for many investors who desire to execute a project in Jordan or elsewhere, as this factor reflects the ease and speed of paperwork and procedures in the country. 

He further noted that a substantial number of Jordanian companies hold experience in implementing digital transformation in different countries.

Speaking with The Jordan Times, Bayan Khaled, a Jordanian computer and automation engineer, said that service automation supports the government’s digital transformation, increases workflow efficiency and creates a flexible infrastructure for citizens to carry out all their paperwork and procedures.

“An automated option of public services means that we can have fast access to information and this leads to an increased performance which encourages local or foreign investors to invest in our country,” Khaled indicated.

Major organisational changes are achieved nowadays through having more digital tools and automation systems that boost the overall operational effectiveness, according to economist Waseem Hussein who told The Jordan Times on Saturday that automation prioritises the needs of customers, investors and innovators that directly impacts the local economy.

“The economic activity will definitely increase when the government’s services are designed and developed in a way that enhances Jordan’s appeal to foreign investors,” he concluded.
