‘No gender pay gap under Civil Service Bureau rules’

AMMAN — Civil Service Bureau President Khalaf Hmeisat said Sunday that there is no difference between the salaries of male and female employees under civil service by-law.
The regulations refer to male employees, per se, only once, where a man receives a family support allowance if he is the one who provides for the family, whereas a woman gets the same allowance if she is the sole provider for her family.
This equity, Hmeisat said, has been confirmed by a study conducted by independent researchers from the University of Jordan and Balqa Applied University, noting that the bureau will carry the study on its website.
