NARC boosts agriculture sector with 21 agreements

AMMAN — The National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) is making significant technological advances by automating research processes and applying the results of scientific research through the Innovation and Agricultural Entrepreneurship Incubator, Minister of Agriculture Khaled Huneifat said on Saturday.
Speaking at a ceremony to sign 21 agreements within the incubator, Huneifat stressed the importance of finding innovative solutions to turn creative ideas into practical entrepreneurial projects towards moving the agricultural sector forward in cooperation with local and international partners, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
NARC’s Director General Khaled Abu Hammour highlighted the incubator’s utilisation of cutting-edge techniques and advanced technology within an integrated system to support innovators and entrepreneurs, He also pointed out that the incubator has so far supported 80 projects.
The agreements included a wide range of ground-breaking projects such as oyster mushroom drying and agricultural product processing, a farming labour platform, palm weevil detection, wood waste recycling, and organic fertiliser production from waste.
