AMMAN — Unified Admission Committee (UAC) acting director Khawlah Awad on Saturday said the names of students who have been accepted at public universities will announced on the UAC's website on Sunday at 10am.
The number of applicants was 12, 746 students, Awad said, adding that there were 1, 700 students whose applications were disqualified for selecting majors that their General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (Tawjihi) scores do not qualify them to study.
Also on Saturday, the Higher Education Council approved the admission of students who passed the Tawjihi winter session 2017 with a score of 60 to 64.9 per cent in the parallel programme only and according to the capacity of available majors.
The parallel programme enables students with Tawjihi scores that are too low to qualify them to study specific subjects at public universities to enrol in these disciplines by paying higher tuition fees.
