‘Municipalities committed to decision to halt appointments’

AMMAN — All municipalities are complying with the government’s decision to halt appointments, Municipal Affairs Minister Walid Masri said on Monday.
In a letter he submitted to Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour, Masri cited the measures that have been taken by several municipalities in this regard and also to rectify the status of irregular appointments.
The ministry has submitted letters to several municipalities in this regard, he said, adding that appointing municipal workers through the Civil Service Bureau will boost transparency and ensure equal recruitment opportunities.
