AMMAN — Dialogue is key to reaching understandings on a just and stable Income Tax Law that includes clear items on addressing tax evasion, Deputy Prime Minister Rajai Muasher said on Monday.
During a meeting with members of the General Federation of Jordan Trade Unions, Muasher called for reconsidering the tax structure, building a solid base for fighting tax evasion, and abiding by the Constitution in a way that guarantees social solidarity and protects the middle class.
The minister noted that all proposals and suggestions by various sectors take into consideration the interests of the country and citizens, stressing that taxes serve the national interests by increasing economic growth and reducing budget deficit and debts, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
