More blood donation in support of Gaza organised, JD500,000 collected so far to besieged strip

AMMAN — The Jordan Post Company on Thursday launched a blood donation campaign in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Several private hospitals and trade companies in Jordan launched blood donation campaigns in cooperation with the National Blood Bank. The campaigns also include the Social Security Corporation, the Royal Police Academy and other national institutions.
These initiatives align with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah to help the Palestinians amid the ongoing Israeli attacks that have resulted in a "severe" shortage of blood.
The Blood Bank in Irbid has oraganised a week-long blood donation campaign which resulted in the collection of 900 units.
Another blood donation campaign initiated by Jordan Nashmiat Association in solidarity with Gaza's medical sector gathered over 200 units of blood.
Health officials have said that the donated lifesaving units are stored in the Blood Bank to be dispatched upon the relevant authorities' request.
Meanwhile, donations to the "Together We Support Gaza: Shelter and Reconstruction" campaign, launched by the Higher Committee for Reconstruction in Palestine, has reached a total of JD500,000.
According to a statement issued by Zain Jordan on Thursday, the main objective of the initiative is to collect cash donations in solidarity with the people of Gaza, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
Those wishing to take part in the initiative can deposit cash via Zain Cash to the Jordanian Engineers Association's wallet, JEAGAZA.
Donors can make electronic contributions through the Jordan Engineers Association's website at https://www.jea.org.jo/’efault/Ar or deposit cash.
