AMMAN — The weather is forecast to be moderate over the weekend and cool on Sunday as temperatures slightly and gradually decrease, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said on Thursday.

On Friday, the weather is forecast to be moderate in mountainous areas and relatively hot in the rest of the Kingdom with north-westerly moderate to brisk winds.

The JMD forecast a slight decrease in temperatures on Saturday; however, on Sunday, a cool air mass is expected to approach the Kingdom, bringing down mercury levels around the Kingdom and resulting in moderate temperatures in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba.

Clouds are expected to appear at low altitudes, with the weather turning cool and breezy during the night, except in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba where the weather is forecast to remain generally moderate, with northerly moderate to brisk winds.

For the weekend and Sunday, the JMD warned of low visibility at dawn and early morning due to fog formation, especially in mountainous areas and the badia.

The temperatures in Amman on Friday will see a high of 31°C during the day and a low of 19°C at night, on Saturday temperatures are expected to range between 30°C and 19°C, while Sunday should see a high of 28°C during the day and a low of 18°C at night, according to the weather department.

In Zarqa, temperatures are expected to hover between 32°C and 21°C on Friday, 32°C and 21°C as well on Saturday, and then to drop to 29°C and 20°C on Sunday.

In Aqaba, temperatures are forecast at 39°C during the day and 28°C during the night on Friday, between 38°C and 28°C on Saturday, and 36°C and 27°C on Sunday.
