Ministry signs agreement to finance cultural centre in Masharia town

AMMAN — The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation on Thursday signed an agreement to finance the Zaha Cultural Centre in the Masharia town, in the Northern Jordan Valley.

The minister said that the agreement was signed in accordance with Royal directives issued when His Majesty King Abdullah visited Masharia. She also highlighted the role of the King in supporting children who constitute a national asset, according to a Planning Ministry statement.

The agreement was signed by Planning Minister Mary Kawar and director general of the non-profit Zaha Mango Company, Ammar Sajdi, in the presence of HRH Princess Alia Tabbaa, the Zaha Cultural Centre supervisory board chairperson.

Kawar also said that establishing the Zaha Cultural Centre was in line with the ministry’s goals for improving socioeconomic productivity for all community members, adding that the total cost of the centre amounted to JD549,000.
