AMMAN — Jordan and China on Tuesday discussed ways to boost bilateral relations. During a meeting with China’s Ambassador to Jordan Gao Yusheng, Interior Minister Hussein Majali emphasised the need to share security expertise in efforts to combat terrorism and crime.

Discussions also addressed the latest current regional developments. Majali highlighted the heavy burdens borne by the Kingdom because of the large influx of Syrian refugees, stressing the importance of a political solution for the crisis in Syria to end the bloodshed there.

The ambassador commended His Majesty King Abdullah’s leadership and the high level of awareness among the Jordanian people, which he said helped achieve security and stability. The ambassador expressed his country’s desire to develop prospects of cooperation between the two countries.

Also on Tuesday, Majali met separately with Germany’s Ambassador to Jordan Ralph Tarraf and Iraq’s Ambassador to Jordan Jawaad Abbas and discussed ways to boost cooperation, especially in security-related areas.
