AMMAN — The Madaba Magistrate Court sentenced members of the Madaba municipality’s local committee to three months in prison and a fine of JD27,374 over the issuing

of 794 illegal building permits. The issued permits violate the 1985 building code and the committee did not levy the sales tax, a judicial source said.

Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission prosecutor general referred this case to the court and the sentence can be appealed, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
