Maaytah discusses decentralisation with governorate councils’ presidents

AMMAN — Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs and Minister of State Musa Maaytah, head of the ministerial committee for decentralisation, on Thursday said that work is under way to provide headquarters to all governorates councils through agreements and consultations with their presidents, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During his meeting with presidents of governorates councils, Maaytah listened to the challenges they are facing, stressing that the decentralisation project is a significant process which will ultimately succeed.
He added that efforts should be exerted to eliminate all tensions between the councils and official institutions.
Maaytah pointed out that the internal procedures of governorates councils will be amended in coordination with councils’ presidents.
