Lower House Financial Committee discusses Royal Court budget

AMMAN — As part of its discussions over the draft 2022 State Budget, the Financial Committee of the Lower House on Monday discussed the budget of the Royal Hashemite Court. Chaired by MP Mohammed Saudi, the meeting witnessed the attendance of Royal Court Secretary General Mohammad Karaki, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The Royal Court’s budget is set at JD55.074 million, allocated for operating expenses and includes JD27 million in social assistance for citizens, according to Karaki.
A total of 1,000 staff members, including civilian, military and security attachés serve in the Royal Court, he said, refuting the false reports that there are 3,000 employees. MP Saudi and committee members discussed the items in the Royal Court's budget, commending the court's efforts to offer social assistance for underprivileged families and support for charities and clubs.
