AMMAN — As part of its discussions over the draft 2022 State Budget, the Financial Committee of the Lower House on Sunday discussed the budget of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone (ASEZ), Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) and Aqaba Ports Corporation (APC), in addition to the budget of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA).
MP Mohammed Saudi, who chaired the meeting, said that the committee was briefed on the budget’s figures, highlighting the lack of seriousness to controlling the expenditures, notably for the ADC.
During the meeting, attended by the related bodies, expanded discussions were made where the MPs criticised the performance of the ASEZ and ADC, amid the high spending while several projects have flattered, calling for cutting expenditures, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
