Labour Ministry carried out more than 94 thousand inspection visits in 2018

AMMAN — The Labour Ministry’s inspection department carried out 94,451 inspection visits to various institutions across the Kingdom in 2018, according to the ministry’s Communication and Social Media Department on Sunday.
The visits included 7,883 to check on child labour, 1,929 related to safety and professional health and 43,442 to check on work environment and conditions, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Ministry employees issued 6,195 messages of advice and guidance, 5,121 warnings and 3,767 fines, in addition to deporting 7,146 foreign workers found in violation of the Labour Law.
The Anti-Human Trafficking Department dealt with 307 cases, including 272 labour cases, where in 20 cases involving 40 victims and 37 perpetrators had been referred to the prosecutor general’s offices.
