King visits Gendarmerie Department

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, visited the Gendarmerie Department on Monday.

The King discussed several issues of interest to the department with Maj. Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh, its director, according to a Royal Court statement.

During the visit, His Majesty was briefed by Hawatmeh on future plans and training programmes to enhance the efficiency of the units.

Hawatmeh said his department works to implement the directives of His Majesty in coordination with other security bodies.

King Abdullah voiced his trust and pride in gendarmerie officers and their efforts to ensure the Kingdom's security and stability.
