King, Japan PM reaffirm importance of maintaining coordination on COVID-19

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah and Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo on Thursday stressed the importance of maintaining bilateral and international coordination on efforts to counter the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a phone call, King Abdullah and Prime Minister Abe reaffirmed the need to maintain coordination between the two countries on issues of mutual concern, including means to counter the humanitarian and economic impact of COVID-19 and safeguard the health and safety of peoples.
His Majesty expressed appreciation for Japan’s ongoing support for Jordan, especially during the current exceptional circumstances, underscoring the Kingdom’s support for Japan’s efforts to counter COVID-19, according to a Royal Court statement.
The King noted the deep-rooted ties of friendship between Jordan and Japan and keenness to expand cooperation and strategic partnership.
