AMMAN — Jordan Phosphate Mining Company (JPMC) Chairman Mohammad Thneibat on Wednesday agreed to reinstate the 38 dismissed workers who were fired last week.
Aqaba Governor Saleh Nusseirat said that he agreed with Thneibat to reinstate the workers after their commitment to not hold sit-ins on the JPMC’s premises or committing any actions that disrupt security and breach regulations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The governor noted that the workers are not employees in the company, but they were hired by one of the contractors who work with the JPMC. The workers had organised protests demanding recruitment in the company.
