AMMAN — The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) and the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) have signed an agreement to sell 2.6 million tonnes of phosphate for a year, from April 1 until the end of March 2022, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The new agreement constitutes a culmination of the relationship between the two sides, since the beginning of this year, under which IFFCO’s total imports of phosphate from Jordan will reach 2.6 million tonnes by the end of March 2022, according to JPMC CEO Abdel Wahab Alrowwad.
He said that this volume of the company's sales to the Indian side, according to international prices, will have a positive and significant impact on the financial position of the JPMC. The IFFCO Group is the largest consumer of phosphates outside Jordan, and one of the strategic partners of the JPMC.
JPMC’s exports to India account for 65 per cent of the total export volume of phosphate ore of various kinds.
