Journalist detained over alleged libel against Islamists leader

AMMAN — Amman Prosecutor General Rami Tarawneh on Monday ordered the detention of journalist Amjad Mualla for a week in the Jweideh Correctional and Rehabilitation Centre, pending investigation on charges of libel against the deputy overall leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, Zaki Bani Rsheid.
Bani Rsheid had filed a complaint against Mualla at the prosecutor general’s office, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
