Jordanians in Kurdistan urged to exercise caution

AMMAN — The government has urged Jordanians in the Iraqi region of Kurdistan to avoid areas of conflict and exercise extreme caution.
In a statement on Friday, the Foreign Ministry called on Jordanians to leave areas of tension due to the delicate security situation in the semi-autonomous region.

Also on Friday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Sabah Al Rafie reiterated that the ministry is working and coordinating with Jordan’s embassies in Tripoli and Tunis to secure the return of Jordanians in Libya.
A total of 110 Jordanians who were waiting at Libya’s Mitiga Airport for several days returned home by air.
The ministry has facilitated the return of 1,100 Jordanians via Libyan airports and the passage of 350 Jordanians who were stranded at the Libyan-Tunisian border crossing at Ras Jedir, and is exerting all efforts to facilitate the return of more Jordanians, according to Rafie.
The ministry has urged Jordanians not to travel to Libya in light of the current unrest there.
