AMMAN — Labour Ministry said on Wednesday that around 180,000 Jordanians visited the online platform of the jobs in Qatar in 30 minutes after it was launched.
Labour Minister Samir Murad on Wednesday announced the launch of the Jordanian-Qatari job website: www.jqpee.jo, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The ministry said that the high traffic caused site slowdown, adding that its technical teams were solving the problem, Petra said.
Murad said that logging into the job link requires that applicants are Jordanians and have national numbers, according to Petra.
He added that the Qatari Labour Ministry reviews the job applications and links applicants with the public and private sectors in the Gulf state.
Murad has previously said that Qatar will provide 1, 000 jobs for Jordanians in two months across five sectors at a press conference after meeting with Issa Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi, Qatari minister of administrative development, labour and social affairs, in Doha.
This short-term plan is part of a previous pledge by Qatar to provide 10,000 job opportunities for Jordanians and to fund investments worth $500 million to assist the Kingdom in facing economic challenges.
The jobs will span various fields, including but not limited to education, health, agriculture, the financial sector and construction, according to the Labour Ministry.
