By Petra - Apr 28,2015 - Last updated at Apr 28,2015
AMMAN — Association of Arab Universities (AAU) Secretary General Sultan Abu Orabi on Tuesday tasked Middle East University Board of Trustees Chairman Yacoub Nassereddin with administrating the Arab council of university governance, according to an AAU statement.
The council will draft a governance guidebook for member universities, based on an initiative Nassereddin presented to the AAU conference last year and was endorsed in this year’s conference, which recently concluded in Beirut.
Nassereddin said the absence of governance at Arab universities has deprived them of being among the 500 best universities in the world.
