Jordan vows full cooperation with UN on Iraq

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh and Jan Kubis, special representative of the UN Secretary General for Iraq, discussed on Monday the latest developments in Iraq. 

Judeh and Kubis, who is also head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), stressed the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve security and stability in Iraq and discussed the possibility of returning displaced people to their homes. 

At the meeting, Judeh underscored the important role of the UN mission in Iraq, stressing Jordan’s commitment to cooperating and coordinating with UN missions to help them carry out their role in Iraq and in the region. 

Judeh and Kubis reviewed the efforts exerted to confront terrorism in the region and in Iraq. 

 

Kubis stressed the UN’s appreciation of the Jordanian role, led by His Majesty King Abdullah, to achieve peace and stability.
