Jordan, UNFPA discuss cooperation in population matters

AMMAN — Jordan and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) on Sunday discussed means to enhance cooperation in addressing population challenges that face the youth, especially at the economic and social levels.
During a meeting with UNFPA Deputy Executive Director Dereje Wordofa, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Rajai Muahser expressed the government’s keenness to take the social protection of the underprivileged classes into consideration while drafting economic plans, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
For his part, Wordofa pledged the UNFPA’s support to help Jordan realise its sustainable development goals, improve living conditions of the youth and enhance their participation in all fields of public life.
